Rachel Beer is a visual artist and educator from Central Oklahoma who is currently based in Lawrence, Kansas. Her practice utilizes the language of observational drawing to cultivate devoted attention towards the lowly, the weedy, and the overlooked.
Rachel has exhibited her work regionally throughout the Midwest, as well as internationally at the Lithographic Symposium in Tidaholm, Sweden. Her work is included in various collections such as the Disability Visibility exchange portfolio which is held within the Southern Graphics Council International Print Archive.
Rachel received her BFA in drawing and printmaking from the University of Oklahoma, and her MFA in printmaking from Northern Illinois University. Following this, she was selected as the 2023-2024 Printmaking Artist in Residence at the Lawrence Arts Center. Rachel teaches a wide range of printmaking and drawing techniques in both university and community settings and currently works at a local high school where she is providing educational support for students with disabilities.
