“Rooted in the aching present, Vital Encounters extends an outstretched hand towards the small weedy spaces within our bodies and landscapes that are routinely deemed deviant, disposable, or unworthy. This work combines the corporeal language of drawing with the spontaneous nature of monotype printmaking as a means of amplifying the significance of these often-overlooked encounters.”
(The following images provide a sneak peek of some of the work I am currently making during my residency at the Lawrence Arts Center. To see this work (and more!) in person, come to my solo exhibition, Vital Encounters, which will be showing at the Lawrence Arts Center from May 31st to June 22nd, 2024.)
